You are here    >    Home Page    >    Information    >    DISCIPLINE

Any child enrolled at LICEF is expected to conform to the behavioral and dress standards of the school and to strive for consistent academic performance.  Learners are encouraged to respect the staff and their fellow learners, show honesty and integrity during examinations, and care for school property & equipment.  Any breach of the above expectations may lead to sanction, detention, or exclusion. For repeated offenders, ultimate de-registration shall be implemented.

The school works on the principle that parents share in the educational partnership.  Physical punishment may be used when absolutely necessary but only if positive action on misbehavior by any learner has had no effect.  Parents are consulted when the  need arises.

A Parent –Teacher interactions roster is prepared every term and distributed.  Parents are advised to ask for one from the respective Head Teacher.

▪ A comprehensive disciplinary code, both for the primary and the secondary school learners, is in place.  For the latest version please contact the respective Head Teacher.

NOTE

Any suspension not completed during the school term shall be completed with the opening of the new  term.

Expulsion to be effected by the respective Head Teacher on the recommendation of the school's Disciplinary Committee.

The prescribed punishment which is the maximum applicable, can be reduced by the authority concerned at its discretion.

The mode of recording offences and implementing disciplinary measures shall be within the limits of the existing schedule.  Ad-hoc means shall be avoided as far as possible.

Any disciplinary action for any misbehaviour/malpractice or misdemeanour not covered in the existing schedule shall be determined by the respective Head Teacher in consultation with the Disciplinary Committee in an appropriate manner that they may deem fit.
